Production Part 1

Im back guys!! This part is where it all got interesting. It was finally time to start filming after all the hard parts with planning, This is where it gets easy and fun. Usually, I like filming and producing our peace because it’s the most fun and I get to be there to guide the process, but due to unwanted circumstances, I was out of the country. This led to Isabella having to take lead on the filming part. It was also easier for Isabella to film because the main subject was her father and I feel like he was a lot more comfortable around the camera when she was conducting the interview and filming it.

She was also able to get the b-roll for our documentary at the same time. Going back to the interviews, Javier, our main interview subject, spoke very well on the camera and I’m very happy with how these interviews turned out. Our other subject is Izaskun also seemed very comfortable since her granddaughter was the one interviewing her.

Below, you can see a few pictures of our interviewees:

As I said on one of my previous posts, b-roll is EXTREMELY important in a production and we made sure to include some very good shots to intrigue the audience but most importantly complete the story.

Here are some shots that we got:

These shots made it easier to understand what he really does and brought the full picture together. They were also shot very well making the viewer intrigued.

This part was done very well and I am excited to show you the final piece. In the next post, I will be talking about the post-production process (editing and final touches) and you will finally get to see the final piece so stay tuned !!

Until next time !!
