Brainstorming: Genre

Hello again,

ever since I posted the last blog, i've been thinking about the angles I could take with this project. The storyline, the genres, etc. But after careful consideration, I think I have figured out my genre. My favorite genre is action/thrillers so I think going down that route would be smart since I know about it more and it interests me.

Some of my favorite action thrillers are:

- Bourne (the whole movie series)

- Jack Ryan (TV show)

- Reacher (TV show)https://blog.reedsy.com/how-to-write-a-thriller/

On the website listed below, I found 7 easy steps when creating a thriller.

Step 1: Flesh out you character and their motivations

Step 2: Start with action - The opening scene should start with action. It is important in the creating/building of the plot

Step 3: Show what's at stake - High stakes are important characteristics in thrillers.

Step 4: Make it difficult for your protagonistYour audience needs to care for your protagonist and their fate, and a good way to do this is by placing them in situations where it’s impossible to tell if they’ll make it or not.

Step 5: Bring on the twists - Thrillers are mainly propelled by plot events

Step 6: Build up to the climax - Make sure you take time to get to the point and make it shine.

Step 7: Give the story a satisfying ending - Keep up with the story you've been telling and make sure the ending fits well.

Looking forward to bringing you along my journey.

Till next time!
